Vintage Winter Beverage Station
For the past 2 months, the coffee and cocoa stations have been in two separate places in my little cottage galley kitchen. As a result, the Keurig has been crowding my cooking and chopping areas. This weekend I married the cocoa nook and java station into one Vintage Winter Beverage Station. It was a match made in heaven.
I decided to use vintage tableware in iconic blue and white patterns for the java side, since the coffee drinkers in our house are all adults. I used some Scio Pottery Blue Willow stacking cups, a J & G Meakin blue and white Nordic sugar bowl and cream pitcher (this is actually a variation of the age-old Blue Onion pattern), a Blue Willow Churchill China cup and saucer, and a Straffordshire China Paul Revere’s Ride transferware cup. In my humble opinion, transferware, toile (to name a few), and patterns like Blue Willow and Blue Onion never go out of style. Also, blue and white dinnerware can be adapted to any decor or season.
The children in our house are the ones that use the cozy cocoa nook side. I decided to give their side a whimsical winter animals set of Pier One Imports stacking cups that I found at Goodwill last week. The stacking cups are very convenient for coffee and cocoa stations, and storage in general. The K-cup display wheel is loaded with coffee, cocoa, and even tea. Great Value Sugar Pearls and Cake Mate Pearlescent Sugar sprinkles are on stand-by to garnish the cocoa.
For embellishments, I used the Cozy Hot Cocoa Nook sign from a previous post, Make a Cozy Hot Cocoa Nook. Read the tutorial for the Java Station Sign here. The small winter wreaths were included in a candle set I found at Goodwill. The banner is made from blue snowflake ribbon (ordered from Amazon) and felt snowman stickers (ordered from Factory Direct Craft).
I hope you enjoyed my Vintage Winter Beverage Station. If you decide to Design Your Own Winter Beverage Station, attach a picture in the comments.
Happy Winter!

We are the same, the kettle (for tea & hot chocolate) & the coffee machine (for coffee) and all associated paraphernalia are all in the same corner – makes life simpler – until 3 people are making drinks at the same time fo course!!! No system is perfect !
Your blue and white china is beautiful.

Ooooh, love the Paul Revere cup… Paul Revere is riding on my Liberty Blue creamer. I agree with you, blue and white transferware is timeless. Also think those stacked mugs are adorable!

Thanks Debbee! Too bad I only have the one cup.
