Decorate Your Spring Coffee Corner
In January and February, I posted Design Your Own Vintage Winter Beverage Station and the cooresponding Beverage Station Sign Project (Fluster Buster.com). In the comments there was a question regarding ideas for a spring or summer beverage station. While I haven’t gone full-board Easter in the house yet, I couldn’t resist adding bunnies, chicks, and even a golden egg to my spring coffee corner. My colors for spring in the little cottage are yellow and green, with splashes of pink and orange.
My beloved Keurig is the centerpiece. It makes a perfect cup of coffee every single time. A Pyrex Butterfly Gold coffee cup is adorning it in the pictures above and below.
In the winter, I combined my java station with the cocoa nook. Now that warmer temperatures are here, we’ll be putting the cocoa away and using the Keurig for coffee and tea only. I loaded my k-cup storage carousel with yellow Easter grass to get the springy party started.
The sugar and cream pitcher are Royal China Cavelier Ironstone. I use the cream pitcher to store spoons for stirring the coffee. The spoons are tied together with a simple, yellow satin bow.
I used an amber Diamond Point Indiana Glass candleholder to store artificial sugar and Coffee Tamer (it reduces the acid content without affecting the taste) for our spring coffee corner. I love vintage dishes and sell them in my eBay store, The Little Dish Cottage. My “store” is attached to the end of each post, and many of my featured dishes are sold there.
I found this gorgeous glass Easter basket at Goodwill before Christmas, and was happy for spring to arrive so that we could finally use it. It is filled with pink Easter grass and plastic eggs from Dollar Tree. People tend to wait for a party, or until company comes to use special things. You don’t have to wait. You can use special things (even breakable things) in your decor- for the enjoyment of your own immediate family- right now. Family heirlooms are different (and should be protected), but vintage dishes and crystal Easter baskets can be found for just a few dollars at any thrift store.
For the spring coffee corner banner and spring bunny sign I used foam chicks, bunnies, and a spring sticker from Dollar Tree. The green chevron ribbon came from my stash, and is probably more than a few years old. I hot-glued the foam shapes to the chevron ribbon, and used some silver duct tape to place the pink bunny on the woodwork above my coffee corner. The material on the counter is a fat quarter bought from Walmart for 97 cents. The banner is attached to the wall with clear push pins. Don’t tell my husband; let’s find out if he really reads my posts.
For a finishing touch I added a Dollar Tree plastic yellow yard chick decoration, with a green chevron bow.
If you decide to decorate your own spring coffee corner, attach a picture in the comments and I will put it in this post.
Happy Spring!
