After painting an Uncle Sam brick paver as a guest post last year, I decided to make a Beachy Americana Flag from brick pavers for my own Love My Little Cottage Blog (use the link to subscribe). Since we live just a few miles from Hunting Island Beach, red and white stripes with a coastal scene on top were a perfect match. The starfish was the icing on the patriotic cake. The palmetto tree is South Carolina’s state tree and part of our state nickname, “The Palmetto State.” The palmetto tree is kind of like a palm tree, only shorter, with a distinctive spiky trunk.
Due to the big coronavirus spike in South Carolina, our 4th of July this year will be spent with family. I am praying for wisdom in our decisions for the upcoming month, because our governor is not reinstating previous restrictions. I keep thinking about Proverbs 1:20-21 and how Wisdom shouts rather than whispers. I sure hope we can heed her voice. It’s hard when there are no limits.
Proverbs 1:20-21 NASB
Wisdom shouts in the street,
She lifts her voice in the square;
At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings

You’re so lucky to live near the beach. I miss that so much from when I lived in Wilmington, NC. Your beach scene looks so good and that was very clever to add the 2 other pavers to make it all a flag! Uncle Sam is looking awesome!

Love this idea! I have some leftover pavers in the shed and should really pull them out and make them garden decorations this summer. I love how you included the beach theme and the 4th of July on this project. Looks great! As always, thanks for sharing with us this week. #HomeMattersParty
