After a long hiatus from pinspiration, I’m joining the October Pinterest Challenge, hosted by My Pinterventures. The goal for each challenge is to choose a pin and MAKE IT HAPPEN! The theme for this month was Thanksgiving. I chose a Painted Fall Shadowbox Project pin from Michaels and changed mine to a Cornucopia Shadow Box.
For inspiration, I looked at several cornucopia photographs, then hand painted my own version in acrylics. The cornucopia is the perfect symbol for Thanksgiving because it represents the abundant blessings given to us by God. I’m thankful for so many things. My health, the health of my family, and the ability to be able to stay home and focus on art and writing are just a few of the things that make me feel grateful this year. The Cornucopia Shadow Box was a long project, so the tutorial will look a little different this time. All the paints used were Apple Barrel Gloss or Multi-Surface. The brushes used were as follows: 1/4″ angle, 1/8″ flat, small round, and a liner brush.

OH Wow ! So gorgeous, you are so talented. I love water colors and I have been doing some lately, I would love to try this.

You should try it. Looking at a photograph or the real thing makes it easier for me.

That is beautiful! I am so impressed with how well your painting turned out since I always struggle with painting on glass. Pinned.
Kristie Schubert says
Multi-surface paint works decently, especially if you use a hair dryer in between coats.
