Have you ever thought about making your own Custom Painted Sunflower Jeans? It is easier than you think! The high-waisted hippy boho jeans with frayed bottoms and wider legs in style right now are perfect for painting and embellishing. Why should you paint sunflowers? Sunflowers are perfect for summer and fall, and can be coordinated with the colors of spring and winter as well. Sunflowers are happy, cheerful flowers. You will never feel depressed while wearing these fabulous jeans.

Textile medium is the magic liquid that makes it easy to paint on fabric. It prevents cracking and stiffness on your finished product. It looks opaque, but dries clear. You can use any type of acrylic paint, but artist paints can be purchased for just a few dollars more than craft paints and are much more vibrant and pigmented.
Instructions for Custom Painted Sunflower Jeans

First, insert cardboard inside the pants leg you are painting. It will keep the paint from bleeding through. Next, paint three Black circles with the angle brush for the flower centers. Add a thin layer of Nutmeg Brown.

Use the liner brush to make Nutmeg Brown seed hairs.

Add Nutmeg Brown and Ocre Yellow seed hairs with the liner brush. Paint Yellow petals with the angle brush.

Shade with Orange and highlight with White and the liner brush. Add more Yellow to the petals if the denim underneath makes the petals look Green. Paint your initials in White with the liner brush.

Paint leaves and stems with Green and the angle brush. Highlight with White using the angle and liner brushes.

That’s all there is to it. Wasn’t that easy?

I hope you enjoyed my Custom Painted Sunflower Jeans post. The design was super-quick and enjoyable to paint.
Happy Fall,
Kristie

Lovely painting. Visiting here for the first time from the really crafty link party.
Welcome to Love My Little Cottage Blog, and thank you for the encouragement!
Those are awesome! I actually did have jeans (and I think even a sweatshirt) when I was in high school that I had painted on. It was a bit tougher back then as paint did not adhere as well to fabric but I was an artist and I LOVED expressing myself using all the mediums I could.
Yes, I do like to paint clothing and other textiles. It is so good to just LET YOURSELF create what you want without regard to what others will think.
Beautiful! I don’t have any jeans that need painting but I do love the style of your painted sunflowers. Great look and inspiration. #HomeMattersParty
