The flamingo is undeniably the star of southern yard kitsch. This Fanciful Plastic Flamingo Family Painting is the 5th in my Cottage Garden series. One of my favorite pastimes while traveling is to gaze upon the decorations in the yards as I go by. I also like to look for little cottages, old barns, and homesteads with lots of accumulation around them. Check out my first painting in the Humble Abode series of paintings here. I love to see the ingenuity employed by the people who dwell in these homes. Their front porch coolers, homemade clotheslines, and wooden tomato stakes are candy to the eyes and food for the imagination.

Happy Spring,

You did an excellent job painting these flamingo lawn ornaments! They are so colorful in addition with the basket of Easter Eggs. at their feet.
Good luck selling your home–selling and moving is a big job –I can see I’ll someday be doing the same to downsize.
Thanks, Pat. Moving is stressful, but it’s too late to turn back now.
I agree that flamingoes are just so much fun to see in a yard. Love your painting too. Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty
