Last year was a prickly one for so many people. It was definitely different for us. Hopefully 2021 will bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic and the economic struggles it caused. I’m celebrating the New Year here at home with a Goodbye 2020 Painted Flower Pot Trio. The Lagoon flower pot will stay at the little cottage. The Prickly Pear and Rose Gold flower pots are gifts for my two oldest daughters that live away from home. Our second-oldest daughter had a coronavirus-shortened college softball season last spring and a rough academic semester this past fall. Our oldest daughter has been working away from us and her boyfriend for the past year and will be moving closer in 2021. I know that both of our girls will appreciate the sentiment behind the flower pots.

Painting Instructions

Cover the parts of the flower pots that will be painted White with newspaper. Use masking tape to hold it in place.

Paint the flower pots and saucers with Lagoon, Prickly Pear and Rose Gold. Add Rose Gold flecks to the Lagoon and Prickly Pear pots and saucers.

Remove the newspaper and paint the terra cotta portions with several coats of White using the 1″ sponge brush. Add a Royal Gold stripe to the top of the Lagoon flower pot with the round brush.

Print the Goodbye 2020 pattern, then rub colored chalk on the back. Use a pencil to trace the pattern onto the flower pots. Paint the letters with Black and the liner brush.

Take the flower pots outside and spray them with two coats of Rust-oleum 2X Ultra Cover Gloss Spray.

Add colorful cactus plants and enjoy. You’re all done! I hope you enjoyed my Goodbye 2020 Painted Flower Pot Trio Tutorial.

Your hand painted pieces are always adorable. We all can only hope and pray for a peaceful and less traumatic 2021. Last year was really difficult. I hope you daughter does move closer to you … one of the most apparent feelings alot of people I know, have felt, is the need of having the family close by. Thank you very much for sharing with us at Meraki Link Party Kristie.
