Welcome to Little Cottage Link Party #86. I hope everyone had a great week. It’s been business as usual around here. Homeschooling and everything else has begun again this semester and time continues to march on. My son graduates from nursing school in April and will be moving far away to Texas soon. I feel priviledged to have had him with us for so long (he is 23), but sad when I think about the loss to come.
Here’s what I worked on last week:

Making string art hearts was lots of fun and way easier than I thought it would be. Pop into How to Make a Valentines Day String Art Heart and watch the video tutorial.
The Little Cottage Link Party is open from Monday, 9am EST, through Thursday, 9am EST (I’m leaving the party open a day longer this year). My goal for this link party is to help myself and others thrive in the home. I’ve spent the last two decades raising five homeschooled children in a beautiful little cottage in the South Carolina Lowcountry. In my opinion, the home is the most important place on earth. It doesn’t matter if you’re married, single, empty-nesting, or raising a large family-your home can still be a refreshing oasis of love and beauty to those who enter.
Time for the Features!
Mel’s sweet wreath is the perfect decoration for transitioning from Christmas to winter.

Claire’s brooch made from felt scraps is divine. She creates gorgeous things from denim and fabric scraps.

I don’t usually feature the same blogger two times in the same party, but Claire’s Scandinavian felt hearts won me over. They look like they came straight from a Jan Brett storybook!

Niky made a cozy winter terrarium with things she already had in her home. I love the way she utilized an angel from her Willow Tree collection.

- Please link up all posts related to the home. Recipes, DIY, Homeschooling, Upcycle Projects, Family Trips, and Decor posts are welcome. Lifestyle posts are okay too as long as they are related to the home.

You too, Debbie!
Thank you so much, for the double feature of my felt brooch and embroidered hearts. I had to google Jan Brett as I hadn’t heard of her before, she’s not that well known in the UK. Her illustrated kids’ books looked lovely.
The art in her books is gorgeous.
Thank you so much for hosting and have a wonderful week!
You too, Cindy.
Your Valentine’s Day string art is so awesome! Thanks so much for sharing and thanks so much for hosting as well! Hope you have a wonderful week!
You too, Tai!
This is what I featured 1-11 to 1-15-2021. On Tuesday was New England Creamy Clam Chowder. Wednesday was Hearty Minestrone Soup. Thursday was Watercress Soup. And Friday was Creamy Ham Chowder. Enjoy
Thanks for joining us, Marilyn!
Congratulations to your son! I’ve been an RN for quite a few years and just started in a new field of nursing–there is always something to learn! Hope he enjoys his new career and you adjust to not having him nearby. Thank goodness for Skype, etc.!
At least we have technology to keep in touch!
Congrats to your son on his nursing degree! I hope it gave him early access to the vaccines. And I know it’s got to be tough seeing your son fly. Hugs.
