Rustic Winter Wonderland Gift Card Holder
It seems like gift cards are the last things to get wrapped in our house. I always forget to buy small boxes or cardholders.
One of the things I’ve been loving this Christmas is the “snowy cabin in the woods” theme. My husband and I batted around several creative ideas for wrapping his parents’ gift cards, then finally decided to put them into a rustic winter wonderland forest, surrounded by glittery snow and flocked evergreen trees. DIY gift card holders are more festive and personal than plain envelopes could ever be. Here’s how you can make your own Rustic Winter Wonderland Gift Card Holder:
Materials Needed

For this quick little project, you will need the following:
*hot glue gun/glue sticks
*wood burner
*rustic wood piece (not pictured)
*yarn, ribbon, or jute
*embossing paste
*fine glitter
*small bottle brush trees
*small paint brush
*pen and pencil (not pictured)
Directions
First, hot glue one of the larger trees in the top right corner of the rustic wood piece, to give the winter scene a starting point.

Glue one of the larger trees onto the top right corner of the wood piece.
Write the gift recipient’s name on the wood in pencil, then trace it in ink. Next trace over it with the heated wood burner. It is so easy to use! Mine was only $12 at Michaels Craft Store.

Start with 48” of yarn. Leave a long tail hanging down, then wind the yarn around each gift card until there’s only a little bit of yarn left. Tie the long tail and the other yarn end into a bow at the top of the gift card.

Use the thickness of the yarn-wrapped card as your guide for placing the two smaller trees, then hot glue them onto the wood.

Using a small paint brush, make snow by brushing the embossing paste under the trees, in the front and back. Then gently tap the fine glitter onto the snow. A little goes a long way.

You’re finished! I used a purple and blue scheme for my father-in-law, and a red and gold scheme for my mother-in-law. Different colors and materials can be used to reflect the personality of the gift recipient, or the gift card type. Use your creativity to customize your own Rustic Winter Wonderland Gift Card Holder for the people you love!
