About Love My Little Cottage
me and my husband at the Astros game in Houston
As a Christian wife and homeschooling mother of five, I love being a worker at home. Now that my 5 children are older, I have time to paint, work with clay, and create painting and teaching tutorials (and videos) for Love My Little Cottage blog.
I also find happiness in painting with acrylic, hand-building clay figures, decorating for every season and holiday, teaching classes for the homeschoolers at my church, and selling products in my ETSY SHOP.
My husband and I lived in a little cottage in the South Carolina Lowcountry for 25 years. We moved in when our oldest daughter was 11 months old. Along the way we added 500 square feet, a red tin roof, and lots of memories. That gorgeous little cottage was the inspiration for my blog and will always hold a special place in my heart. Recently, we bought Our New Charleston Style Home. It is the house we’ve always dreamed of owning. Also, it’s only a few blocks away from the Little Cottage, so I can ride by and check on Mrs. Butterscotch (our nickname for the Little Cottage) any time I want.
I am a daughter of the King. You can read the story of how I went from being a public school teacher to full-time worker at home here.
This little cottage was our home for 25 years.

My latest decorating style has an artsy vibe, topped off with a few pieces of Industrial and mid century modern furniture (all mixed in with whimsical, homespun fun). This blog was featured in Woman’s Day Online Magazine. It has a wonderful painting studio upstairs and a kiln in the garage for creating and teaching Ceramics and Pottery.
Thanks For Stopping By!

Recently I was accepted to Columbia Teachers College for a Studio Art for Art Teachers masters degree. It is a hybrid program where I take classes online during the spring and fall, then attend studio classes in the summer (2024-2025).
