About Love My Little Cottage
As a Christian wife and homeschooling mother of five, I love being a worker at home. As my 5 children have gotten older, I’ve had more time to scour thrift stores for vintage glass, dinnerware and holiday items to collect and sell in my eBay store (https://www.ebay.com/str/thedishcottage). I also have more time to focus on my projects, and write in the Love My Little Cottage blog.
In addition to collecting and selling vintage dishes, I enjoy decorating, creating holiday vignettes (for ALL of the holidays), DIY projects for our home, and making crafts with the children in the classes I sometimes teach at church. I also love to cook, paint, and sew. Creating tablescapes with new and vintage dishes is also a favorite pastime.
My husband and I have lived in our little cottage in the South Carolina Lowcountry for the last 24 years. We moved in when our oldest daughter was 11 months old. Along the way we added 500 square feet, a red tin roof, and lots of memories. You can read the story of how I went from being a public school teacher to full-time stay-at-home mom here.
My decorating style can be accurately described as Vintage Cottage, with a hint of what I call Storybook Style (painted furniture, needlework, sewing creations, decorations gathered over time, timeless textiles, and colorful rugs- all mixed in with whimsical, homespun fun). I align myself closely with the “Grandmillennials” when it comes to decor. More is more!
