Have you ever seen toadstools like this? If you haven’t seen them in person, you’ve probably seen them in storybooks and animated movies. These gorgeous Fly agaric mushrooms usually grow beneath birch, pine, or spruce trees. They can be found in late summer or early winter. Don’t they make you think of gnomes and fantasy lands far, far away?
Maybe mushroom paintings and designs make you think of groovy 1970s decor. I like those green and orange mushrooms too, but my Toadstools with a Snail Acrylic Painting is not inspired by the 1970s. The fairy tale mushrooms in my painting take me back to my childhood, when we dreamed of fairies and elves and played outside and inside all day long until we were forced to stop and eat dinner.
I wanted something bright and happy to bring good vibes into my new dining room. The common areas in our house will be mostly neutral, so I wanted to add some color pops. The persimmon and red toadstools will certainly draw eyes away from the brown and black furniture and Agreeable Gray walls of our new build.
A butterfly seemed cliche, and I didn’t feel like painting a dragonfly, so I added a happy green snail instead.
The Painting Process for Toadstools with a Snail Acrylic Painting
I finally finished. Now I just need to take it to Michaels and have the canvas framed. I hope you enjoyed seeing my process for creating Toadstools with a Snail Acrylic Painting.
Blessings,
Kristie

It did a great job on this painting. It does remind me of a storybook. Thanks for linking up. #HomeMattersParty
